Match Day Sees Increase in Residency Positions Offered to Medical Students
Months of suspense ended on Friday for more than 20,000 students in their final year of medical school as they ripped open envelopes and learned where they will spend the next three to seven years of training to be doctors.
The event, known as Match Day, marks the occasion in which the students' preferences are matched to the needs of residency programs across the country.
