Sabato Uses YouTube to Encourage Students to Vote
In a new video on YouTube, the pundit, professor, and author Larry Sabato speaks to college students about the growing diversity in American politics and the importance of voting and volunteering in local and federal elections.
Mr. Sabato, the director of the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia, encourages students to become more familiar with the political process and system. He says he anticipates that young voters will turn out in record numbers on November 4, but he nevertheless asks students to spread the word and encourage roommates, classmates, and friends to cast ballots.
He calls this year’s election a “turning point” and says it has “enabled America to turn a page.”—David DeBolt

Right – get out there and vote (for Obama), and let’s “turn the page” from liberty and the US Constitution to Das Kapital, socialism and leftist neofascism. Some “change”.

Um, yeah, ok…and you can pretend that McCain DIDN’T vote for the $750 billion bailout/bank nationalization, which, by the way, is FAR, FAR, more socialist than any sort of nationalized health care plan, which will take (according to independent analysis) around 35 million people off the rolls of the uninsured.
McCain’s plan—has the potential to take about 1 million off, and may even actually add more.

No, Julia, it’s clear that Obama wins the share-the-wealth crown, but before he made his comments to Joe the Persecuted Plumber, he said this:

As you note, McCain is not much better, but at least his deep convictions are not to rescue people who will always be poor (to paraphrase Jesus in Matthew 26:11).
As for students, give up the idea they will turn out in force on Election Day. Every four years a big youth vote is predicted and every four years they fail to show up. They’ve got better things to do than stand in line behind a bunch of old people. The only way most of them would vote is if they could text it in.

While
ii have great respect for Dr. Sabato at UVA even though I’m a VT Hokie, we are on the same page on his push. I however can not figure out his political leanings, but after reading some of his work, and being a student of history and his TV appearances he’s a bright, pontificator who really makesa lot of just good common sense without trying to use his prestigious educational intellect to impress people. Go Larry!! HOWEVER, WHILE I AM IN A GRADUATE UNIVERSITY THAT PRODUCES DR’S IN SEVERAL HEALTH FIELDS, OUR KIDS ARE AT AN AVERAGE AGE OF 26 SEEM TO BE VERY MATURE AND SOMEWHAT ARE AWARE OF THE ISSUES OF GREAT CONCERN AND WHILE IT IS WORTHY I FEAR WE ARE SETTING UP OUR YOUTH TO VOTE WHEN THE MAJORITY SIMPLY DO NOT KNOW THE ISSUES AND THE FACTS AND COULD INFLUENCE THE ELECTION THAT WILL GIVE US A PRESIDENT THAT IS CLEARLY THE WRONG CHOICE.iENCOURAGE THE VOTE, BUT PLEASE VOTE IN AN EDUCATED WELL INFORMED VIEW AND LOOK AT THE BIG PICTURE..ASK YOUR SELF MANY TIMES IS THIS THE PERSON I REALLY WANT TO SEE AS OUR COMMANDER IN CHIEF,,AFTER THE PERSON ASSUMES OFFICE WE ARE STUCK WITH HIM WHETHER IT’S MCCAIN OR OBAMA..THINK AND THINK AGAIN AND THEN VOTE YOUR CONSCIOUS NOT BECAUSE SOMEONE IS PUTTING THE PRESSURE TO VOTE IN A CERTAIN WAY. REMEMBER , NO ONE BUT YOU KNOWS HOW YOU VOTED EXCEPT YOU!~!! A GREAT FREEDOM WE ALL OF ALL AGES ENJOY MANY COUNTRIES DO NOT. tHE YOUTH WILL IN MY VIEW DETERMINE THE NEXT PRESIDENT..WHAT A RESPONSIBILITY!!!!
