College Coaches Use Webcams to Recruit
Some college coaches are getting around a new NCAA rule forbidding them from meeting in person with recruits during the spring by using Webcams, the Associated Press reports.
The new regulation prevents coaches from meeting in person with high school athletes, but allows them to talk by phone. It counts “[a]ll electronically transmitted human voice exchange,” including videoconferencing and videophones, as phone calls. Instant messaging and sending phone text messages, however, are forbidden.—Catherine Rampell
