Defamed students might want to sue the hell out of the posters, assuming the latter can be identified. A subpoena to the site owner can get you the poster’s ISP, then go from there. I can’t see how colleges need to do anything at all.

Certainly seems to be potentially hurtful to job applicants so simply not visiting the site as advised above doesn’t help if you’re Googled by a prospective employer.
Beyond that, though, it just caters to the prurient interests of readers which is what promoted the web in the first place. It’ll eventually die and just be yesterday’s flash in the pan like a million other sites nobody can recall.

It’s a shame they feel so wounded. Poor things. How about they think of all of the terrible things they’ve lodged on ratemyprofessor.com. Hmm…

Lawsuits are a very expensive, time-consuming, and risky way to address this issue. Furthermore, they compound the wrong by continuing to publicize it.

The school could block the site. They could be partly liable if school computers & servers are utilized to access this site. If an entity like the ACLU takes it on as a class action law suit then I bet a lot more caution would be offered.

Any employer who would be swayed by the stuff at juicycampus.com is probably not someone you’d want to work for.
I like the idea of spamming it to death, though. Poetic justice and all that.
