Students Faced Long Lines, High Expectations

Scholars and voting groups say youth turnout exceeded 1992 peak

College students across the nation formed long lines at polling places on Election Day, toting books, radios, and boxes of pizza. They also carried high hopes. After all, this was supposed to be the year of the young voter.
