Since the last update (May 9, 2003):
DeVry Inc. announced in May that it had completed the acquisition of Ross University, the operator of a medical school and a veterinary school in the Caribbean. The price was $310-million.
In July, Career Education Corporation completed its previously announced acquisition of another publicly traded company, Whitman Education Group. The transaction, involving both cash and stock, was valued at $245-million....
