Budget Problems and Title IX Spur Sports Cutbacks at 3 Colleges

Quite a few college athletes in the Northeast got lumps of coal this past holiday season from their athletics directors.

In November, Canisius College announced it was dropping 8 of its 23 sports teams. Also that month, Dartmouth College announced it was dropping swimming for men and for women.
