New York Public Library Introduces Free Online Archive of 275,000 Images

The New York Public Library unveiled on Wednesday a free, searchable database of 275,000 photographs and manuscripts from its collection.

The database, called the NYPL Digital Gallery, took more than five years to develop and was supported by a $7-million grant from Atlantic Philanthropies.
