Training is poor to nonexistent, secretaries are pressed into service with tremendous responsibilities for running 'notification systems' 24/7 and on weekends because no one else knows how to do it and the administration won’t pay for additional staff. Prior days' news: By date | Search This week's print issue Back issues: By date | Search August 8, 2006Privacy Rights for Students, or Public Buildings for PoliceA judge’s ruling on the privacy rights of Washington State University students has led the campus police force to discontinue hallway patrols in dormitories, the Associated Press reported this morning. The judge dismissed two criminal cases against students this past spring, ruling that the students had an expectation of privacy in their dorms, just as if the buildings were houses.
