The dismissal, it appears, has complicated the younger Giuliani’s hopes of one day reaching the PGA Tour. In a 198-page lawsuit filed on Wednesday in federal district court in Durham, N.C., the 22-year-old rising senior at Duke says he was unjustly cut from the team after a new coach took over and wanted to cull the roster. The former mayor and onetime candidate for the Republican presidential nomination had no comment on the lawsuit. But perhaps the elder Giuliani would have advised otherwise. Just last year, while campaigning for the Republican nomination, he promised to carry out tort reform and rein in frivolous lawsuits if elected. What do you bet the first line of his pleading begins, “On September 11th…”?

What a ridiculous lawsuit – if you are good enough, playing for a college team has nothing to do with whether you make the tour. My cousin played the tour for 10 years and never went to college. You play your way onto the tour. What a baby.

We Need Margaret Spellings
Where is Margaret Spellings and her national assessment program when we need her? I have it on good authority that Andrew Giuliani had a perfect score on the Spellings’ National Assessment of Golf examination; to wit …
1. Average driving distance exceeds 270 yards = YES
2. Driving accuracy exceeds 65% = YES
3. Greens in regulation exceeds 60% = YES
4. Average total putts per round less than 40 = YES
5. Up-and-down from sand traps exceeds 50% = YES
6. Has good attitude more than 50% of the time = YES
7. “Rules of Golf” exam score exceeds median = YES

Yet his “teacher” apparently gave him an F.
I think that, with his perfect SNAG score in hand, he will have a very good case against the beleaguered Duke University Athletic Department.

You know, in this crazy test-obsessed academic country in which we live, it is difficult to determine if Fritzbane Manley (see above) is being satircal or serious.
