Atlanta Policeman Says Jaywalking Historian Is Shading the Truth

The Atlanta police officer who is being investigated for his rough treatment of a jaywalking historian last week at the American Historical Association’s annual meeting says that the scholar is not as innocent as he claims. In an interview with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the policeman also says that he was in uniform, contradicting the historian’s version of events. The incident is drawing vigorous commentary on this blog.
