About UConn
The University of Connecticut is the state's flagship institution of higher learning. Founded in 1881, the University includes 10 Schools and Colleges at its main campus in Storrs, separate Schools of Law and Social Work in Hartford, five regional campuses throughout the state, and Schools of Medicine and Dental Medicine at the UConn Health Center in Farmington.

Remarkable Growth
With a total student population of approximately 28,500, UConn serves approximately 20,800 undergraduates and offers an impressive student/faculty ratio of 17:1. This year, our freshmen class was chosen from an impressive 22,353 applications, achieved average SAT scores of 1192 — up 79 points since 1996 — and included nearly 150 valedictorians and salutatorians.
Another critical element of quality growth for an institution is ongoing financial support. Over the past 10 years, UConn has experienced a dramatic increase in public and private support and investment. This past year, research awards exceeded $180 million, an increase of more than $70 million since 1999, and endowed assets topped $300 million.

The state-of-the-art Homer Babbidge Library is located in the heart of our main campus and connects you to UConn's comprehensive University library system, providing access to library resources at the five regional campuses, the Law School and the UConn Health Center.
