Clarion University, Since 1867

Clarion University of Pennsylvania, founded in 1867 and part of the State System of Higher Education, provides an ideal education experience in western Pennsylvania for students through personal attention, nationally recognized programs and faculty expertise.

Academic programs are offered on the Clarion campus and Venango Campus in Oil City and other locations through a growing distance education and extended studies program. A comprehensive multi-purpose university committed to teaching, Clarion University offers more than 90 academic programs, including 75 bachelor's degree programs, 11 graduate programs leading to master's degrees in biology, business administration, communication, education, English, nursing, science education, special education, and library science, and associate degrees in six areas. Academic programs are offered through the Colleges of Arts and Science, Business Administration, Education and Human Services, and the School of Nursing.

A comprehensive multi-purpose university committed to teaching with an enrollment of approximately 6500 students, Clarion University offers more than 90 academic majors, including 64 bachelor degree programs and 10 graduate programs leading to master's degrees in biology, business administration, communication, education, English, science education, special education, and library science. Students at the Venango Campus can earn a Bachelor and Masters of Science in Nursing or an associate degree in six areas.

Clarion University is primarily an undergraduate institution with selected graduate programs. Instructional programs--delivered on campus, throughout the state, and beyond via appropriate distance learning technologies--range from associate degrees and certificate programs to baccalaureate degree programs in the arts and sciences and professional fields, graduate programs in selected fields, and continuing education. University programs are administered through campuses in Clarion and Oil City.
