Founded in 1964 , Montgomery County Community College has grown with the needs of the community, building its Central Campus in Blue Bell in 1972 and then opening the doors of the West Campus in Pottstown, in the fall of 1996. Along with these two campuses, the College offers distance learning opportunities as well as courses at various off-site locations. The College is fully accredited by the Commission of Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. Some of our hi-lights include:
In order to meet the diverse needs of our student body and our community, the College offers four Associate Degrees (AA, AS, AAS, and AGS) in 90 degree and certificate programs in 40 areas of study. In 1998, the College created a new Liberal Studies degree (AS) that provides students with the strong general education core (36 credits) and flexibility to tailor electives (24 credits) to their transfer institution's program requirements.
We are extremely proud of our over 150 full-time faculty. We boast nationally recognized scholars, poets, sculptors, volunteers, lecturers, and authors as well as the 2002 and 2004 CASE and Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching's Pennsylvania Professors of the Year. Montgomery County Community College (MCCC) has a strong institutional commitment to diversity and is dedicated to excellence through diversity in education and employment. MCCC, an EEO Employer, provides equal employment and educational opportunities to all who are qualified. In keeping with the College's diversity initiative, MCCC seeks and welcomes applications from diverse candidates, those who have had multi-cultural experience, and those who can demonstrate a commitment to diversity.
