Oklahoma City Community College is the fifth largest higher education institution in Oklahoma with an annual enrollment of more than 19,000 students. Considered a landmark in the southwestern section of Oklahoma City, the College is situated on 143-acres just south of Interstate 240 on South May Avenue, conveniently neighboring the entire Oklahoma City metropolitan area. The College is a primary educational partner in economic development; brokering educational and training services throughout the region. A recent Economic Impact Study of Oklahoma City Community College found that each year, a large percentage of OKCCC students join or rejoin the local workforce — their added skills translating to earnings of more than $220 million in annual additional income to Oklahoma's economy. The newest structure on campus is the four-story, 109,000 square-foot Keith Leftwich Memorial Library which provides information services and computing resources for students and the community and houses the Division of Information Technology. A recently donated $2 million facility, located just four miles south of the College at 11919 S. I-44 Service Road, houses the College's newest program in Aviation Management. Offered through a partnership with Southeastern Oklahoma State University, the program provides opportunities for FAA and Tinker Air Force Base employees to earn bachelors degrees. Also located at the South Facility, are several of the College's administrative support offices and the Training Center, which provides business training classes and seminars. The Division of Health Professions is a recognized leader in health technologies and pre-health professional programs. The College partners with the health care industry to address the critical shortage of RNs and other health care professionals to increase the numbers of highly qualified graduates in these areas. The School of Nursing features a simulated hospital area and one of only two Human Patient Simulators in the state. Located in the Main Building, the Division of Science and Mathematics houses the only Biotechnology program of its kind in the state, preparing skilled technicians for dynamic new career fields. The Division of Business features the first ACDelco Knowledge Center in the nation — serving more than 2,800 automotive technicians from a six-state region. The Division of Social Sciences offers degrees in Pre-Law, Psychology, Sociology, History, Political Science and Child Development. The Arts and Humanities Building is home to the largest collection of AVID picture and sound editing machines in the Midwestern United States providing film and video students the opportunity to learn on the most current equipment available. Also located in the Arts and Humanities building are classrooms and offices for global education, cultural programming, art studios, music rooms, and a 300-seat theater featuring guest artists and entertainers from around the world. The College Union provides food service facilities, dining areas and conference rooms. Adjoining the College Union is the Wellness Center, which is composed of a gymnasium, cardiovascular center, weight room, and aerobics room.
