Denison University, founded in 1831, is located on a picturesque
1200-acre campus in Granville, Ohio, and is a nationally recognized
selective, independent, residential college of liberal arts and sciences
for some 2,000 men and women undergraduates. It is steeped in tradition
and focused on the success of its students from some 47 states and 38
countries who can select from more than 43 courses of study and nine
pre-professional programs. Denison has an alumni body of 26,000 and an
endowment of more than $400 million that places it among the top
colleges and universities in the United States. Former Princeton
President Bill Bowen, now head of Mellon Foundation, United States
Senator Richard Lugar and Walt Disney Co. President/CEO Michael Eisner
are among its well-known alumni.
Denison is situated atop a ridge overlooking Granville, a quaint, New
England-like village with shopping, restaurants and services
conveniently located adjacent to campus. Columbus, Ohio's capital and a
metropolitan area with a population of 1.5 million, is just 35 minutes
from campus.
