Northeastern University, founded in 1898 and located in Boston, is a private research university that is a leader in experiential learning, interdisciplinary scholarship, urban engagement, and research that meets global and societal needs. Many of Northeastern's 1,330 full- and part-time faculty members have garnered national and international acclaim for their achievements in teaching and research, with particular strength in interdisciplinary scholarship. Faculty members direct more than 35 research and education centers, highlighting the growing richness of our collaborative research environment.

The University offers a comprehensive range of undergraduate and graduate programs leading to degrees through the doctorate in six undergraduate colleges, eight graduate schools, and two part-time divisions.
