Salary data for the private universities was taken from the most recent IRS 990 form and projected forward at an annual rate of 3 percent to estimate current totals. The allowances have not been included as part of the president's total compensation. This figure represents base salary derived from the Johns Hopkins Health System, a nonprofit affiliate of the university. It has been projected forward at an annual rate of 3 percent to reflect 2005-6 levels. This figure represents a university contribution toward a deferred compensation plan. This figure represents the imputed value of the president's home. This figure represents a bonus derived from state funds. This figure represents a bonus derived from private money. This figure represents deferred compensation, payable from private funds under the control of the Board of Visitors. This figure represents an automobile allowance.
