Chemical & Paper Engineering:  Research Technician to support projects related to the use of keratin biomaterials for controlled release/drug delivery applications, under direct supervision from the principal investigator, by performing a variety of moderately complex and generally standardized physical, chemical, or biological tests with procedures and techniques previously outlined by established protocols and other scientific data, which could include:  Conduct generally standardized chemical, physical and biological tests on experimental materials; preparation of hydrogels for controlled release/drug delivery applications; use equipment necessary for preparing and processing materials; record experimental results and effectively communicate results to supervisor through laboratory notebook and simple charts and graphs; perform cell culture with cell lines or primary tissues; assist with other procedures following training by PI or other laboratory staff; review scientific journals, abstracts, and other publications for information applicable to research projects; maintain relevant laboratory equipment; maintain a scientific laboratory notebook; perform other duties incidental to the work described herein.
