Project Manager, LMS Evaluation and Implementation

Overview

The incumbent will be responsible for managing the evaluation, selection and implementation of a new Learning Management System at Emerson College.

 

Duties

  • Development and implementation of a detailed project plan.
  • Development and implementation of a communication and change management plan.
  • Working with the Instructional Technology Group to identify and involve key stakeholders in the process
  • Develop various forms of communicating project progress and decisions for College constituents.
  • Refine the project schedule, coordinate resources and meetings, facilitate collaboration 
  • Oversee documentation of implementation and course conversion process.
  • Maintain project plans, documentation, and reports.

 

  • Scheduling / planning for technical training and documentation for technical support and help desk staff.
  • Scheduling / planning for technical and pedagogical training and documentation for faculty.
  • Scheduling / planning for technical training and documentation for students.


Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Understanding of Change Management process as it relates to Project Management.
  • Understanding Change Management as it relates to Higher Education
  • Experience overseeing planning, execution and delivery of software implementation projects
  • Experience in Higher Education Information Technology Support.
  • Knowledge of the higher education LMS market
  • Experience with LMS implementation process
  • Evaluation experience with user testing for usability

 

Software Experience

  • WebCT, Blackboard, Sakai, Moodle, DesireToLearn; Course content creation tools
  • Understanding of issues surrounding back-end integration with Banner (preferred)
