Miami University is seeking an assistant director to contribute to the mission of the office of student activities and leadership by facilitating campus programming through the advising of programming boards and committees. Student Activities and Leadership is responsible for the programming outcomes for two campus programming boards: Campus Activities Council (CAC) and its team of directors coordinate the efforts of nine committees including: first year opportunities, Family Weekend, Homecoming, global fusion, lecture board, concert board, spirit board, KidsFest and Spring Fest. Miami Entertainment and its leadership team coordinates the efforts of the student center programming board, AfterDark (late night programming), a design division and the publication of the Miami Memos.The assistant director also plays a central role in supporting the management, activities and development of student organizations; the facilitation and implementation of leadership development programs; and the development and execution of educational programming around strategic co-curricular involvement. Master's degree in college student personnel/student affairs or related field is required; Graduate assistant or full-time experience working in campus activities, leadership development, student union, student organization programming or related areas is required; Experience working with or advising student groups as a graduate assistant or full-time employee is required; The successful candidate will demonstrate commitment to diversity, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to relate well to student, faculty, staff, volunteers, community members and administrators; Ability and willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings/nights and weekends; Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs (specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
