SENIOR ASSOCIATE VICE PRESIDENT FOR RESEARCH
Clemson University, a land-grant University of South Carolina,
invites nominations and applications for the position of Senior
Associate Vice President for Research (SAVPR). This person will
serve as SAVPR, acting for the VP for Research in all matters
affecting the Research Division (Human Resources, Financial,
Sponsored Programs, Grants & Contract Management, etc.) as
required. Oversees the day-to-day operation of the Division,
handling short and long term issues as they relate to the Division
and the University from a research perspective. University
signature authority for proposals, grants and other confidential
documents, and will report to the Vice President for Research.
The SAVPR will have responsibility for the Sponsored Programs
Office (pre-award), Grants & Contracts Administration
(post-award), Research Compliance, Research Services and Technology
Transfer and Electron Microscope Facility, assuring coordination of
the Offices and systems for research with each other and with other
University departments.
Substantial experience in University sponsored research financial
activities is required for the position. Applicants must possess
strong leadership and management skills as well as experience in
research administration in a University setting. A doctoral degree
and 5 years experience in a higher education environment are
minimum requirements.
Salary is negotiable. Review of applications and nominations will
