Responsibilities Teach undergraduate students in Pediatric and
Medical-Surgical/Fundamentals Nursing (classroom, clinical, and
simulation lab using moderate fidelity manikins). Responsibilities
may also include teaching online courses for RN to BSN and MSN
students depending on educational background and experience. Advise
a diverse population of undergraduate students; participate in
program, department, and university committees; and undertake a
regular research program or other discipline-related scholarly
activity involving students as appropriate. Make professional and
university service contributions and advance nursing at Mansfield
University; and demonstrate excellence in teaching, continuing
scholarly growth and service to the university (required for tenure
and promotion). Qualifications Minimum requirements: Doctoral
Degree or ABD in Nursing or related field (ABD candidates must
complete the doctorate within 18 months of hire to continue in the
position); Master's Degree in Nursing if doctorate is not in
nursing. Licensure or eligibility for licensure from the PA State
Board of Nursing as a Registered Professional Nurse. If the
successful candidate supervises students in a clinical setting in
NY, then licensure from the NY State Board of Nursing as a
Registered Professional Nurse is required. Classroom and clinical
teaching experience in Medical-Surgical AND Pediatric Nursing.
Experience with online teaching and simulation; and completion of a
successful interview including a teaching demonstration. Additional
qualifications: Meet health agency requirements by the start of
employment including immunizations or screening for measles, mumps,
rubella, tetanus, diphtheria, hepatitis B, tuberculosis, and
varicella; valid BCLS for healthcare providers before the start of
employment; excellent communication skills (verbal and written);
and ability to teach, evaluate, and advise students. Demonstration,

Preferred: Doctoral Degree in Nursing; ability to teach
pharmacology and pathophysiology; ability to effectively use
technology in teaching and scholarly activities and evidence of
other scholarly activities; experience in college-level teaching
and in supervising clinical learning experiences at the
baccalaureate level; and experience with cultural differences.
Other conditions of employment are verification of all earned
degrees through the receipt of official transcripts for all earned
degrees and an acceptable background check report. Essential
Functions Effective teaching of the principles, theories and
techniques of nursing. Effective clinical teaching and oversight of
nursing students. Ability to fairly evaluate and advise students.
Ability to walk, stand, sit, lift, push and pull objects. Physical
and mental ability to perform CPR. High degree of coordinated
movement and object manipulation required. Ability to communicate
and write effectively. Effective use of computer technology
including midlevel simulation manikins. Work cooperatively within
the department. Travel is required. Status Tenure-track position
beginning with the 2012 Fall Semester (August, 2012). Courses are
taught at the Mansfield and Sayre campuses. Instructor or Assistant
Professor rank, a minimum of an ABD is required for Assistant
Professor rank. Salary is competitive and dependent on
