Position Description: Assistant Professor, 10-month,
tenure-track position with responsibilities in teaching, research,
and service in the Department of Agricultural Leadership,
Education, and Communications at Texas A&M University. Duties
include teaching agricultural communications and journalism courses
in an established program, conducting research in agricultural
communications and related areas, and managing outreach and service
learning projects. Major Duties and Responsibilities: The key
person will (1) demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching,
research, and scholarship; (2) contribute to the scholarship of the
profession through publications in journals and research
conferences, and obtain external grants and/or contracts; (3) teach
courses in, but not limited to, writing, media production, web
design, and/or digital journalism; (4) advise undergraduate and
graduate students; and (5) work with agriculturally-related
clientele. Qualifications: Earned doctorate in agricultural
communications, journalism, mass communications, agricultural
education, or closely-related field. Preference will be given to
candidates with professional experience in communications and
journalism. Strong computer skills using both Windows and Macintosh
platforms are required. Candidate should be able to share his/her
vision for research, teaching, and service in the land grant
