The Department of Anthropology at the University of Alabama at
Birmingham invites applications for a non-tenure track 1-year
visiting teaching position (4:4) in Biological Anthropology, with
the potential for renewal. Candidates will teach at both the
undergraduate and graduate level beginning August 2012 and
extending into May 2013. Candidates for this position should be
broadly trained, have a clearly defined teaching philosophy and
demonstrate evidence-based teaching effectiveness, as well as have
practical experience in biological and/or forensic anthropology.
Experience in online and blended instruction is a plus. Willingness
to develop an online course and to teach Introduction to Cultural
Anthropology is also a requirement. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in
hand at the time of hire. Salary is negotiable. Please contact the
