Environmental Studies: Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow. Goucher College invites applications for a postdoctoral teaching fellowship. The appointment will be for one year beginning August 2012; possible re-appointment for two more years, dependent on performance. We are seeking an interdisciplinary social scientist with broad theoretical and methodological training to teach undergraduate courses and conduct research with undergraduate students. The successful candidate will teach three courses per academic year. By the time of appointment, the successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. in environmental studies, sustainability, cultural or human geography, anthropology, sociology, or a related field with expertise in the human dimensions of the environment. Candidates with either an international or an urban focus are preferred, as well as those with expertise in quantitative or mixed-methods approaches to research and analysis, social and governance aspects of conservation, social drivers or institutional dimensions of environmental change, sustainability science, or environmental activism. Candidates should have a broad knowledge of environmental studies, current environmental concerns, and a commitment to innovative thinking and undergraduate education. Goucher College, the first college in the nation to require students to study abroad, is a liberal arts college located in Towson, Maryland, twenty minutes north of Baltimore.
