Following are the 49 institutions that have been censured by the American Association of University Professors for violating principles of academic freedom and tenure as outlined in the 1940 Statement of Principles on Academic Freedom and Tenure. Censure applies to the administration and governing board of the institution, not the institution itself or its faculty. The censured administrations are listed alphabetically with the year in which they were censured.
