One of my posts from last night seems to have deleted itself. Hmmm....

Bioteacher, I'm glad you have a book reward for yourself in the future. Those are the best! I'm looking forward to a long flight on Monday with a good book to read. Until then...lots of tasks!

Tasks:
-Prepare January seminar presentation. Sent in abstract and title, rough outline and PPT prepared
-Set-up BB sites for teaching. One down and one to go
-Schedule haircut.
-Transfer book notes into Endnote.
-Purchase camera.
-Get small bills.

Good morning and happy new year, sprinters!

Crumpet, I cannot resist asking if your small bills must be unmarked. Are they?
Bioteacher, that is some list.

I am just doing a sprint today, in between a hockey practice and the first game of a tournament. I may or may not also be hiding from my mother-in-law, who is visiting.

Before 11:15, I need to

Finish assignment handouts (assignments 1-3)

Crumpet, I no longer have a new book to look forward to. I went to bed early and read it cover to cover. <hangs head in shame> It was awesome.  I am also thankful that I am a fast reader so that when I cave, I don't lose weeks of work time.

Today:

Grade Writing assignment A
Prep lecture 2-1
Recitation worksheet posted
Burn CD for G
Prep lecture worksheet for Monday class.
Provide feedback to UTAs from last term....
Form S scanned and sent
Prep turnitin
Dig out from home front paperwork deluge
Dig out email inbox.... again.

Plus- take Bioette to get new sneakers.

First up is shower and sneaker fetching, I think. Then I have to buckle down and work work work. I know I can't get it all done. But I have to give it my best shot.

And I'm off.....
<looking longingly over my shoulder at my nook, which beckons me to revisit awesome scenes in the book I just finished....>

Go, crumpet! Go, bioteacher! Go, moodymoodie!

I came here to post, but everything that was on my list is still on my list, even though I spent fifteen hours working on one of the syllabi. Turns out the course description and the course final match, but the course expectations/requirements don't. So I have to create a dual course that fits all of those. Sometimes it sucks to be tt.

Get house working again.
Get schoolwork that must be done by next Tuesday done.
Get other stuff done as soon as possible.

Compdoc, that sounds painful. I hope the rest of your list is less awful.
Keep going everyone. We can do this!

<looks around - fancy meeting crumpet, compdoc, moody and bioteacher here>

Really, I should have been here this past week, but I've been so busy (winter intersession - ugh) that I didn't dare venture near the fora.

Okay, so today's list:
Finish learning contract admin stuff (60 - 90 minutes maybe?)
Finish project set-up (30 minutes?)
Finish prepping first day of grad course, which meets tomorrow night (could wait until tomorrow afternoon)
Mark response papers (Honestly not sure how long these will take.  They're basically a done, not done sort of grade, but I still need to comment on them.  Yeah, only a week into classes and I'm already dreadfully behind.)
set 1
set 2
set 3
set 4
set 5
Read background material
Prep lecture/discussion material for tomorrow
Send a few "I'm alive" personal emails

Okay, here I go.

P.S.  Fortunately, my new library books are not in the same building as I at the moment.  That helps reduce temptation.  But, oh, how I'd like a nap!

So glad to see lots of people here. Progress is happening!

Ahh, Bioteacher, I so understand the inability to put off reading a good book and then burning through it in one night. I can't wait until my flight tomorrow and all of the reading time I have in front of me!

My priority is to make sure that I get packed up tonight and tomorrow for the airport. I also have to make sure I get my notes taken from books and then return them to the library tomorrow. I may be able to get more done, but just not sure...

Good luck all

Crumpet, I cannot resist asking if your small bills must be unmarked. Are they?

Heh, you have glimpsed into the sketchiness of my life right now!

Tasks:
-Prepare January seminar presentation. Sent in abstract and title, rough outline and PPT prepared
-Set-up BB sites for teaching. One down and one to go
-Schedule haircut.
-Transfer book notes into Endnote. In progress
-Purchase camera.
-Get small bills.
-Haircut.
-Misc. Errands.
-Pack up suitcases.
-Return last few library books.

Yes, I'm such a slut when it comes to books. It called me and I didn't give more than token protest before it reeled me in. Sigh. Unfortunately, it ended on a huge cliffhanger and the next book won't be out for at least a year. I HATE that. The book was delicious, but I absolutely detest cliffhanger endings. I'm going to buy the next one based on the overall book qualtiy. Crap books that end on cliffhangers mean I skim the next releast in the bookstore to get the answer.

Havea great flight, Crumpet.

Odessa, welcome back to the trenches with us.

Moodymoodle, are you still with us today?

Left to do:
Provide feedback to UTAs from last term....
Form S scanned and sent
Prep turnitin
Dig out email inbox.... again.

So for tonight, I'm going to start on UTA feedback and dig out email. And then I'm going to play for the remaining minutes of the weekend.

Cripes, I'm working in slow motion here and I'm going to have to stop to get some dinner and do some laundry.  It's going to be a late night.  (I KNEW I should have worked yesterday.)

Okay, so today's list:
Finish learning contract admin stuff (60 - 90 minutes maybe?)
Finish project set-up (30 minutes?)
Finish prepping first day of grad course, which meets tomorrow night (could wait until tomorrow afternoon) --> postponed
Mark response papers
set 1
set 2
set 3
set 4
set 5
Read background material
Prep lecture/discussion material for tomorrow
Send a few "I'm alive" personal emails

If I don't log back in tonight, I'll definitely see you tomorrow afternoon!

It is nice to see everyone! Odessa, your list scares me! Bioteacher, yours is looking significantly more slender than it did this morning.

I had to speed out of my work area because I had forgotten that I needed to shower before MM1's hockey game in Moose Belly. I got most of the assignment prepared, and to what I didn't do I am applying the great wisdom of my first teaching mentor: let the students do the work. Instead of doing a sample basket myself, I'm going to have the students do it in class.  I've decided to reuse a r*bric (what, it's not a dirty word here?) for one of the others, and so that leaves me with one last one to finish up, my plan to recopy, and a little tinkering on the CMS.

Compdoc, "get the house working again" is on my long list too. I cannot wait to have a clean house that is functioning on a term schedule. I also can't wait for my mother-in-law to go home; she's been here for a week helping because Mr. M got pneumonia. It's helpful, certainly, but I would like to be able to walk through my kitchen without her mopping behind me every time.

Last assignment, go!

Quick check-in to update on the status for this evening. I'll probably pop back on tomorrow before I hop on the plane.

The next few weeks will be very crazy but I'm sending support and happy thoughts to all of you even if I'm away from the forum!

Tasks:
-Prepare January seminar presentation. Sent in abstract and title, rough outline and PPT prepared
-Set-up BB sites for teaching. One down and one to go
-Transfer book notes into Endnote. Almost done
-Purchase camera.
-Get small bills.
-Pack up suitcases. 90% packed -- its that last 10% that gets scary though!!
-Return last few library books.

I'm revising a syllabus from two years ago with new page numbers. I'm using the creator of the course's syllabus for the second. And I've finally (after more than 20 hours on it) finished my new freshman comp class. (TT place has lots of requirements I haven't done other places.)

And I got the paper done that was due yesterday.

So I've made a bit of progress.

But part of the "fix house" has expanded to the need for a plumber and everyone skipping the showers tonight.

Oh no, compdoc. That's terrible. I'm glad you got some work done to compensate.

I did my assignment, rewrote my prep notes, and did half of the CMS work, so it's bedtime. I have something shameful to read to unwind.

Crumpet, good luck!
