I saw some recent postings for Asian University for Women . Does anyone have any first hand information on the university or living in Chittagong?

I was on the inaugural faculty for the 09-10 school year. I am one of a few from that time who are at liberty to talk openly of AUW. The management has a history of buying out contracts.
I continue to follow developments in Chittagong and would be happy to answer any questions you have.
Email me, particularly if you are considering applying for a position.

Thanks for asking this question, I was wondering the same thing and have been able to find very little information from faculty on the internet.  :(

I know I have a friend who teaches at a women-only school in Chittegong, but I don't know which one. I'd be happy to forward on her information via PM.

See articles published in a Bangladeshi publication. There are two now in a series. Watch for more:

2012-13 UPDATE:
I have recently sent out an email requesting information from those currently at AUW in Chittagong. It appears as if it has been a fairly stable year with better communication between the administration and staff. There isn't the exodus of faculty that happened in previous years.

There is an effort to put into place standard academic/administrative policies that will allow the university to function with proper governance.

However, the finances are still unassured.

So my advice is to not give up tenure to pursue a career at AUW, but if you decide to go it will be a wonderful experience with delightful students.

This. My friend who worked there is now at a small, elite college in the US, and she misses her AUW students terribly. She had a terrific experience there, but as an American woman in her 30s, wanted to return to the US to start a family.

I am still looking. Does anyone have an update since the new vice chancellor has taken over leadership of the University?
