And I still cannot post without doing that ridiculous "preview, post, refresh browser, retry button" thing.

FAIL.

I may need a Forum vacay...tired of losing posts, sessions timing out, inability to send PMs.

These, perhaps, are signs that I need to follow Melba's lead.  Is that what you're telling me, oh Cruel Forum?  Is that it???

No, Ella. You can't leave! This is just a little bump on the fora highway.

Whatever your problem is, it's probably my fault.

+1. Ella, you are not allowed to leave...

Ella: don't go!!

Here's a bafflement, indeed: now, when I go to "unread posts" and click through to read something, and then click the "back" button (Chrome), instead of taking me to the unread posts page again (which is normal behavior) it bumps me back to the bottom of the last *thread* I was reading via the unread posts page.

It seems to be working better today, has anyone else noticed?

I only had to do one round of spell-check on my first post, and everything since then has gone through without a problem.

Not that that's perfect, but it's better...

I suppose the programmers are going nuts trying to sort it out....

Mods, any updates?

It happened to me today.  I logged out, got an error message, killed the browser, logged back in, and then had no problems.  Unless this post doesn't work right, in which case, we'll see....

Unfortunately, I think conjugate gives good advice.

Hi all, here's an update on what's going on with the timeout issue. One of the developers made some modifications this week that should fix the majority of the session time outs. He tells me it might not solve all of the problems, though, and has asked that you let us know if you have continued problems. (Date and rough time of the session timeout would be extremely helpful for troubleshooting.)

I know this is buggy and frustrating, and understand your impatience... thanks for sticking with us.

I just tried to reply using "Quote" from a particular post. I got -

Quote
Session verification failed. Please try logging out and back in again, and then try again.

So, I clicked on Logout from the menu Forum Home | Help | Search | Profile | My Messages | Logout

and lo and behold, I got -

Quote
Session verification failed. Please try logging out and back in again, and then try again.

MacOS 10.6.4, Firefox 3.6.11. I'd go try it in Chrome, but I really don't have the time.

(I posted this using the "reply from the bottom of the page, and preview before hitting Post" method.)

For what it's worth, I'm using Safari (5.0) and the only thing that happens is that I get logged out after a while.  Sometimes it happens while posting, sometimes while reading threads, sometimes while I've been looking at another window.

All, I posted this on the other "time out" thread yesterday. One of our developers did some further troubleshooting, and thinks he's solved the issue with the session timeouts. Can you please keep an eye out and report it here if you're still experiencing problems with sessions timing out?

Thanks,
