Of course, Ethan Hawke's stories aren't so great, either, but he had two books published.

The difference, from what I can gather, is that Hawke sees himself as a Writer, and Franco is just taking the piss about, well, everything.  It's like his entire life is one big postmodern riff.

Molly Ringwald recently published a collection too. She was paid for it, which is all that matters.

James Franco can cause confusion in many people. Not to wonder.

It is not uncommon to be befuddled in the presence of James Franco's name.

I dislike the way that "branding" can extend across vocations, or even across families.

It would be nice if I could actually, you know, read the titles.  I did catch Edward Albee and Denis Johnson (a love of Jesus' Son is mandatory if you have an MFA).

Aren't Malcolm Gladwell's 15 minutes over?  And now Franco's usurping Dorothy.

I didn't realize Hart Crane's reputation was in such dire need of resuscitation.

(spoiler alert:)

He dies in the end.  --Then again, they all do, one way or another.  Don't they?

When James Franco plays a role, there's always the possibility that the script will be rewritten so that James Franco's character will not die.

James Franco may lose an arm or a leg, but James Franco will not die.

The Fiona

The Franco is eternal.

He will go on.

Isn't he still dead?

Oh, not that Franco.

If Franco was Oz Dorthy never would have left to go back to Kansas.

Wait.  That's a good idea for a novel, actually.  <starts writing, ignores grading>

A cross reference to another thread in which James Franco has been recently lauded. There is a bit of a competition re his worth versus Johnny Depp's.

I vote for James Franco, of course.

I always vote for James Franco.

James Franco is now being mocked on the "Post Your One-Offs" thread.

You will find out how powerful James Franco is.

Mark my words.

I'm impressed that "epistemological" appears in The Hollywood Reporter article.  Clearly, the topic of James Franco raises the tone of even the raggiest publications.
