My personal website is down and has been for a few days. This is the third time this semester. Does anyone know a reliable hosting company that isn't outrageously expensive?

I run my blog on BlueHost. It's been great; virtually no downtime ever.

I've been using Dreamhost for almost 10 years now.

+1 for Bluehost. I used to use it for hosting a larger website with a lot of traffic. It only went down once and the customer support is live 24/7.

Plus, it's cheap and it comes with a lot of easily installable, fun extras.

I've also used Hostmonster, which runs on the same CP panel as blue host and costs even less. However, it did go down more than once.

I use http://www.dotnet-host.com/ - $12/year (1GB storage and 30GB monthly bandwidth) is hard to beat. Don't think my site has ever been down...

Godaddy has always worked great for me.

Its owner is (was?) an awful person who flogs sexist ads and loves to kill more or less lame animals, for "sport." But, yeah, they are really easy to use and have a great rep for uptime.
