I've read through the thread on Aims Community College that has some information about Greeley, CO. It painted a fairly dismal picture of Colorado higher education. I have to think that UNC is in a better situation, but it is still a fairly small (12k) school in a remote part of the state. Does anyone have current insight into the school, particularly the place of the humanities on the campus, stability of funding, and salaries?

I cannot speak to any of the particulars of UNC. However, I had a commute from Denver to Fort Collins about 15 years ago, and the smell of feedlots near Greeley was noticeable. A couple years later, when my wife and I were planning the wedding, we located a wonderful little bed and breakfast to potentially host our outdoor wedding. We loved the place, but when we were strolling the grounds thinking about the outdoor wedding banquet...the ambiance once again presented itself. It was not very appetizing...So, nothing against the school or the people, but that aroma of Greeley did leave a strong impression.
