I can't find any info on previous posts here. I know the basics (Christian liberal arts) and the region, but am wondering if anyone knows about collegiality among faculty, and pay. AAUP looks pretty low compared to other schools in the region, but since it's small and without a law or medical school, I wonder if that's a factor. Anything?

I used to live in Sioux Falls. USF is the Baptist school in town. It has moved steadily toward investment in athletics, though their resources for faculty might / must be limited. Low student population and the college is second-fiddle to Augustana College - a Lutheran school literally a few blocks away that enjoys a better reputation, students, and (albeit still limited) resources. A few years ago USF was forced into contraction and laid off tenure-track faculty. A google search should produce something on its financial troubles.
Hope this helps. Cheers.

Hmmm. Thanks for the info. I do know Augie has a better reputation. I have heard some good things about USF but only from student input. Financial stability would be huge for sure. Some Baptists schools have some heft donors and endowments and some decent rankings; some don't. I'll dig on that point.
