yet s/he jumps around. A bit of a head scratcher, yes?
You never know what goes on unless you are in his/her shoes. You never know if this person jumps around because s/he likes to do, not to mention that what kind (or how much) of advantages s/he gets as it continues. It might not be what it appears outside. You never know.
I wonder if s/he really gets a big pay boost every time s/he hops around, if it occurs every two years. Employers are not dumb, so maybe that's not what it is about. Or, maybe that is true---s/he is very close to somewhere like the Nobel prize or something very big, so every university is just trying to get a hold of him/her at all costs. I don't know.
I am far from a superstar so I can't compare myself here, but I myself feel slightly victimized by this gossippy head-scratching/eye-balling. For some crazy unknown reasons, some people in my field think that I am one of those frequent job-hoppers, with their own imagination of ever-boosting salary trend, eye-balling both at myself and at my present and past employers. Only those in the close circle of mine know that is far from true. I wish I knew how to unwind those untruthful stereotypes on me tactfully, without advertising that I am an idiot---because it is true that some peers of mine do get those ever-boosting salaries throughout their hoppings. F**ck. Good for them. Hmmm.... maybe its just an indication that they are
that competitive and I am not.
I just wanted to say, if you don't know what it is, don't even think about scratching your head.
