...well, it's best to leave some words unwritten, but Charles Pierce over at Esquire sums things up rather nicely:

Quote
This is a guy who famously announced a "truce" on the social issues...and then defunded Planned Parenthood in his state. And the video of him talking on the campaign trail about how Indiana didn't need a right-to-work law is both specific and damning. On this issue, Mitch Daniels lied to get elected. Period. Let Brooks give us all another lecture about moral standards and political civility. I need a good laugh.

I've got (extended) family in Indiana who are, almost to a man, Republican, but in the Reagan mold (which is to say Democrats who hated Carter and so voted for Reagan and never looked back).  They belonged to unions and worked for GM affiliates and have now woken up to find themselves in the strange position of supporting a party that is working very hard to drive them to the poor house every single day (while blaming them for the ills of Indiana, and, by extension, America) and I'm just tired of it.

It is a real stroke of genius that the GOP can consistently get millions of people to systematically vote against their own economic self interest.
