I have 16 courses left to take to get my degree from Indiana University.   I have a great paying job in Boston in Sales.  Both are important to me but getting my degree is my top priority.  I am struggling with keeping up with school and my heart isn't in my job.   I really pays well but I just feel like I am meant for more.    Any suggestions on if i should quit my job.... try to tough it out etc..    I just feel like I am at a crossroads and needed to bounce it off some other peers who might have gone down this road.    Am I nutts for wanting to quite my job?   Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Even if you are doing OK in sales now, the lack of a degree will hurt your career prospects in the future.  Finish the degree.

My son left his job to finish school in a year. If he'd continued to work, it would have been 2-3 years minimum. I don't know how old you are, OP, but after a certain point, time is less and less on your side. He had other schooling he wanted to pursue and taking years to finish up an undergrad degree when he was already in his 30's wouldn't have been the best decision. Also, even if he didn't go to grad school, as he got older and more experienced at work, not having a degree was holding him back from advancing.

I'm a weird one. I always opt for school over work; it's just more fun. If you can, yeah, quit work and just finish up. Then it will be behind you and you can do what you want to do.

I did it for the last year of both my master's and doctorate degrees. Managed to work a little part-time on some interesting projects during each. Also managed to finish my degrees without killing myself. It was tough and financially painful at times, but I don't think I'd re-do my decisions.

Not nuts.  Get degree.  (But then again, what do you expect as an answer from academics on the CHE.)

Keep the job dude, Keep it keep it keep it. Everybody I know that graduates can't find a decent job because schools don't teach what is needed at work anymore. You can finish school anytime and online.

Yes, Johnny is correct again! Keep the job. Unless you get a professional degree, all the overpriced college courses add no value. Save your money, pedro!

I am right.
