Shirt stays, people, shirt stays: elastic bands that clip to the bottoms of your dress shirt and slip around your foot (under the sock).

They extend all the way down your leg to your foot? Wow--that has got to feel weird.

Feel weird? Try look weird.

Again, gentlemen, these aren't to hold your socks up. They're to hold your shirt down.

The stirrup versions which I described have been great for the seven years I've used them. I don't notice the strap when I'm standing or walking, and it slips behind my leg when I'm seated.

I'm sure they aren't for everyone, but they are, perhaps, a more viable solution for most men than . . . butt glue :)

Sartorially yours,

Litdawg

Just for the record, I should make it clear that I have never used butt glue. I am guilty, though, of relying upon office supplies to keep stuff in place. The small binder clips are particularly good for holding a scarf in place and nicely arranged around the neck.

Just followed the link you provided with the initial product recommendation--I think I see the joke now.

And binder clips are the best! I have found many . . . alternative . . . uses for them too.

Supposedly, there was a government-funded study a number of years ago on paper clip usage. A remarkably small number of them actually get used to hold papers together. Vast numbers get unbent and/or chained together by people talking on the telephone. I, however, find the small paper clips useful only for holding paper together; it's the binder clips that have the...er...flexibility I require.

Why don't they make the shirts like Onesies, that is, with snaps underneath?

I know next to nothing about uniforms, but am of the opinion that men's dress shirts should be a bit blousey, those straps apparently defeating the purpose.
