My college is being merged with a larger university.  While we have been told there will not be faculty job loses, the president of the university - who will become our president this summer - said that only the university faculty will teach any upper level courses.  It feel more like a takeover.

I am already stressed about the situation and the ramifications it might have on my job (non TT).  Any tips?

My sympathies - that does sound more like a take-over than a true merger.

I don't quite understand the way that the faculty will be divided and labeled.  After all, once you've merged you should be one institution, so everyone should be "university faculty".  Are there clear differences among the two faculties, perhaps in level of education or in ability?  Other than that, I can't see a legitimate reason for such a decision.

Do you have a PhD?
Are you teaching upper level classes now?

What other job options do you have short term?  IF few, then hold your breath and be a cheerleader for the new program.  Longer term, the job market will be warming up pretty soon.
