Does anyone use an easy iPad app for gradebooks. I usually use Excel dummy templates but wonder if there is an app where I can simply enter assignments, weight and let it do my calculating. I see a few out there that seem to be for secondary teachers with seating charts, tadies, etc. I'd rather hear from others what works--especially those of you who, like me, aren't number happy, before I buy one.

I'm trying out Grdekeeper this semester. I have the desktop version and it's perfectly functional, so I have high hopes.

After my computer crash a few months ago, I have given up trying to resurrect my much beloved legacy desktop/Palm gradebook software, I am currently gludging along with, shudder, paper.  The horror, the horror. I can easily build an Excel worksheet (and with more effort an Access Database), but portability is important to me since I take attendance.

I desperately need a software solution that somehow replicates the portability of the Palm.  I am thinking android, maybe iPhone, possibly Kindle Fire, least attractive an iPad since their cost/benefit is upside down.

I can't believe there is not a business opportunity here in an app like this. I have solid practical understanding in designing, marketing and investing in Db's, but my learning curve in writing apps at this point is too steep and long. PM me if you know a smart kid who needs some guidance?

I use this one and like it.  Daniel Ethier's Gradekeeper is also good, but the sync between the desktop and the iPad is kludgy.

OFP, I hope you find what you're looking for.  There is also an iPad app called TA Attaché that I have, but haven't really put through its paces yet--I'm not sure if that works on iPhone or not.  I don't think either Gradekeeper or Gradebook Pro works on iPhone.

And I luuuuuuurve my iPad, so you may change your mind about the cost/benefit ration once you've dropped about $100 more in the iPad app store.  I rarely use my laptop now.
