I joined yesterday and have been posting around the community, within the topic and non-spam like posts, yet I signed on today and they're all gone now.. why?

Why has every single one of my posts been removed?

I joined yesterday and have been posting around the community, within the topic and non-spam like posts, yet I signed on today and they're all gone now.. why?

Why has every single one of my posts been removed?

Because your posts on a billion other Internet sites show us that your purpose in posting here is not to engage with the issues of the community (of which you are clearly not a member), but to make a blitzkrieg of comments in hopes of getting people to engage with you for the purpose of raising your own Internet profile. You don't get to use the site for free advertising, even if it's just via your moniker.

Making 26 low/no value added posts here in 2.5 hours of membership, most of which show that you haven't even read the thread in question or learned the posting rules, is clearly not an effort to become a member of the community, but rather a ploy to saturate the forums with your moniker.

That's why.

I read the threads and I replied to them specifically. I don't see how one should be penalized for joining multiple communities. No one uses just one.

Your views on your actions are backwards and generally unappealing to new members such as myself. I joined because I obviously was interested in the community. But if you're just going to go behind my back as I post and remove everything simply because I'm new and posting, then I wouldn't be surprised in your loss of new members.

You asked why. VP was kind enough to explain. Frankly, I wasn't going to bother. Truly, we don't treat all of our newcomers this way; just think of yourself as special.

Despite all our silliness, the people on the fora are involved in higher education. We come here to blow off steam, laugh, cry and seek advice. We don't promote ourselves. Much.

For the uninitiated, can someone explain how the propagation of a user name on a large number of unrelated fora helps generate traffic?  This is different than the usual link at the bottom of the page spam.

You are among the Pure and Truthful, however small their Number.
My goodness, that was an exceptionally good analysis of the forum.

There is software that will link any comments made in response to your user name, regardless of where they are made, back to your own blog/sales site thereby artificially inflating its ranking and drawing people to you. There are whole discussion groups, to which this is a regular poster, devoted to how best engage people on other web sites so that they will respond to you. Some people advise asking questions in order to draw people out (the stated premise, at least this guy's, is that people want to seem smarter than you are so they'll answer you). Others advocate posting inflammatory comments extolling racism/sexist views, etc. In order to get the responses flowing. It's a tactic underlying a lot of the Internet trolls that don't post specific spam links.
