In all seriousness, my wife and I have been together since high school and are still happily married. We've both changed enormously since then, but we changed together. She gets me, and has gotten me at every stage in my life.

Do you know Chris Rea ? He had exactly the same kind of love story and wrote wonderful songs about it.

('Stainsby' being the name of the highschool and 'Windy Town' Middlesbrough)

That last one is my favorite song ever. In spite of age and disease, he gives her a date as if it were still the first one. Sorry, I've got dust in my eye again.

As for getting married young and staying married, well I think that, for most people, it can be one or the other.  When you look at what most teens find attractive in the other sex, well, let's just say, I can't believe that it is a recipe for a long and happy marriage.  There are exceptions, of course.

Ouch!  Now I'm imagining what my life would have been like if I'd married the person I was in love with as a teen.  Egad.  I still know him and...wow, that would have been horrible.

I would be married to a dumb redneck.

This goes for pretty much every boyfriend before Mistergolds. What can I say; I have a soft spot for meatheads.

Hey.  I resemble this remark.  Watch it.
