Passport Processing Time
«

I'm sorry for the stupid question, but I can't find the information on the home office website. We've submitted paperwork for a British passport for the baby. We're on a tight schedule (we have old plane tickets that need to be used by January), and would like to go ahead and book our flights. I'm worried that there will be a problem with the application, but the DC passport office has already charged my credit card. Would they charge it anyway if there was any problem or delay, or can we take that as a sign that the application is acceptable and the passport is on its way? Does anyone have experience with this?
Thanks!

Recently applied for a replacement passport (from outside UK), they said it could take 6 weeks, but actually took less than 3. I believe if you need to travel more quickly, they will issue "emergency" travel documents, valid for one trip.

Thanks, Barcardiandlime. They were super fast issuing my visa, but it is a different office. I'm glad to hear that (at least in your case) the passport office is quick, too.

Last time I got my passport renewed (inside the UK) it took two weeks.
