I have read your initial post, OP, and know that your employer did not break a labor law if you are in an at-will state.

However, if you were terminated due to falsified information or slander, you would have a lawsuit against the person who spread the false information.  Do you know what prompted your termination?  It is important for your career and your reputation that you find out (just in case someone is indeed spreading falsehoods).

Keep in mind that lawsuits take YEARS, lots of money, TONS of time, a major emotional investment; and in the end, you can't squeeze blood out of a turnip (should you be lucky enough to prove your case and win).  The emotional toll isn't worth it.

Tomorrow is a new day.  Your former employer didn't deserve you anyway.
