My daughter was misdiagnosed as CFS for years.  Actually she had polycystic ovaries.  Glucophage took care of it once she had the right diagnosis.  The lesson I learned was always go to university hospitals for complex problems.

Went to the Osteopathy college, was interesting. I'm in Canada and osteopathy here is quite different, for one thing they are not licensed as MD's. They work on muscular and skeletal issues mainly and also internal issues. They did some kind of balancing treatments, massaged my bladder area, my lower back, and head. Because I had a bladder infection and still feel pressure to pee all the time, they said I could still have a bladder infection or my bladder is out of place?? Thus the massage. I dont' know about this place. I'm skeptical but it's cheap and they listen to me. They didn't give me any kind of diagnosis but suggested trying to find a naturopathic doctor. So no real help, and I didn't feel much better. But I'll still go back again in Jan.

Went for a follow up with the crazy Endo doctor. All of my tests came back fine. Just as I thought. He was a little nicer and suggested I see an ENT. I don't know why he suggested an ENT honestly. So I feel like I'm back to square one.

Even if I find a naturopathic doctor, they wont' be able to order tests or do any kind of treatments. Just nutritional counseling and coaching. They can't even do acupuncture here.

I had some good days in the past 2 weeks. Was on a different supplement at the advice of the nutritionist I've been working with via phone. That seemed to help somewhat. This is a liver cleanser. Because I'm not responding well to the adrenal supports and vit c's, she suggested this stuff. But I still have some crappy days, like today. Absolutely drained of all energy, barely able to crawl out of bed, and slogged through the day like I was swimming through molasses.

I'm waiting for some natural progesterone cream to come in the mail. Can't find anything very good where I am, so I order from the U.S. I'm still having my periods and too young for menopause, but not by much. I've been feeling more and more depressed around my periods. So hoping the cream will help. I've used it in the past with some success.

Anyhoo, just thought I'd update. Wish I had better progress to report....

Slight progress. I've been taking herbs and supplements in case of a virus. And they seem to help a little. I had some pretty good energy for a few weeks and am still taking them, so we'll see how that works out.

Just saw my primary again. She seems to be taking me more seriously, since she finally received my records from the U.S. I had an MRI for dizziness two years ago that was abnormal, but the Dr. at that time said it wasn't anything to worry about. My primary is sending me to a neurologist. And a urologist, since it seems a bladder infection has returned. And a rheumatologist as she thinks I could have Fibromyalgia. And she's sending me for an ultrasound to check out my swollen lymph nodes under my left arm pit. I also have an ENT appt scheduled. The Endo referred me since he didn't find anything. I had a sleep study done twice and they said no sleep apnea, so I'll talk to the ENT about that.

It's exhausting keeping track of and going to all these appts., especially when it seems they aren't helping. And it takes forever to get an appt. I have to wait until MAY for the neurologist. Unbelievable.

But I'm glad to have at least gotten some referrals.

In the meantime, I'm trying to everything I can to keep my stress levels down. Teaching is so exhausting and the new semester started up. I'm spending a lot of prepping and hope I can get into a routine in a few weeks and it will be more manageable.

Glad the holidays are over. Too stressful, traveling, family crap, exhausting. I keep saying I'm going to a tropical island next year,...but I really hate being by myself for xmas and I have no one to go with.

Still seeing a therapist, sometimes it's helpful, but if I cry or anything, she just sits there and doesn't seem to know what to do. If I present a situation, then she's helpful in thinking through alternative ways of framing, etc. She's definitely straight CBT.

Saw a new Endo, suggested upping my thyroid meds slightly. I've done that in the past and it hasn't helped. Also running some new blood tests for pituitary deficiencies.

Saw a rheumatologist who thinks I could have atypical fibro. I don't have the widespread pain but was pretty sensitive to the areas he pressed during the examination. Sending me to a pain specialist.

Last urine culture shows no signs of bladder infection. Still haven't had the urology appt yet.

Nothing showed up on the ultrasound for swollen lymph nodes.

Still exhausted, feeling worse, and nothing in terms of supplements seems to help at all. Having increased head fogginess and feverish like symptoms. No fever and its just my forehead and sinus area. Have had this for a decade and getting more severe and frequent. Allergy meds don't help much. Its winter here and I take Claritin in the spring/summer/fall. Doesn't help.

Maybe I am just nuts after all and should go back to trying to SSRI's or something. Never helped before and I"ve tried everything. I'm having increased anxiety, stress, and racing thoughts. Sick and tired of feeling sick and tired.

Hang in there. At least you are able to rule a few things out. Hopefully some of these tests will be informative.

The Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Program consists of a unique clinically monitored, goal-oriented, and educational-approach program for patients with chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. If you have failed conventional therapy and are looking for goal-oriented care with gradual improvement, then the integrative methodology designed by Dr. Viramgama can work for you.
