Hi,
My first post here.
I am wondering whether anyone has heard any decisions on NSF CAREER; I am in CISE.
I just found out that the status and the PO were changed while the panel had already met a week or so ago. So I am thinking this is bad news for me.. sigh..

Decisions tend not to be made so close to the panel meeting. Could it be that the original PO was a rotator, and this grant is just being reassigned because the rotator left?

I got an email from my program director this week to notify me that my proposal was recommended for funding. My proposal status on Fastlane however has not changed since submission.

That's great news. I checked my proposal status today - still pending but I have a new Program Officer. I am not sure when that changed. External Reviews began in early October.

Congrats Drsky!
Sagit, you and I are in the same boat. My status date recently changed but without notification of accept or decline. I believe the panel met in Oct. After reading prior threads on this website, I decided to wait until now to join the conversation. I think now is when it gets interesting. If last year's thread is a good indicator, we could be posting for the next three months---with sporadic congratulations in between. Good luck to anyone else that is waiting for good news.

Found out yesterday that I didn't get it. Apparently, it was pretty close but didn't quite make the cut. Good luck to others.

There is sometimes a bias towards funding proposals which are in their final year of eligibility.

Several folks have got it. Mine still pending, no status update, probably not a good sign.

My department, two applied to CBET this past round. One reject one recommended. Rejected was early Dec. recommend (asked for a revised budget) mid Dec.
I got mine 5 years ago and did not hear until January. Two others got it that same year, one heard mid March and the other heard in July (no joke). So there is still a possibility.

I'm still waiting for news. After submission, I was informed I would hear around January 15. The wait is killing me, even though I know the odds are against me. Anyone have a sense as to whether hearing later usually means good or bad news?

I think it varies. I was notified last week (recommended for funding). I think things are moving more slowly due to budget issues. So, I wouldn't worry yet. :-)

Congratulations! I'll hold out hope that there's still a chance, but I know the odds are long- perhaps more so given that I'm in the social sciences and applying for the first time. I think it varies. I was notified last week (recommended for funding). I think things are moving more slowly due to budget issues. So, I wouldn't worry yet. :-)

I've heard nothing yet. Some of my colleagues heard rejections back in December, however, so I guess no news is better than bad news. Mine was submitted to a different division, so it is difficult to compare.
On the positive side, I have finally memorized my fastlane ID for quick daily status checks.

Any idea how the budget situation is at NSF this year? The reason I got a reply from my program manager saying that my proposal is on hold, but they
