If you haven't seen it yet:

http://chronicle.com/article/AAUP-Blasts-Climate-for/129478/

The full report is available at:

http://www.aaup.org/NR/rdonlyres/87C27116-A9BE-492D-AFD6-DFB2AF7B4840/0/SCAD.pdf

The Chronicle's coverage didn't call attention to one of the dirtiest acts by SCAD this go 'round--They proposed financial settlements to the faculty they had previously wronged (19 years ago!), but when it became clear that AAUP wouldn't agree to SCAD's "conditions" they reneged on the proposed settlements!  I know the working conditions at SCAD have come up on the fora before, but this really seems to take the cake!

I don't deserve these self-entitled students.

I wonder why those two dismissed faculty members didn't sue?

I wondered that myself, though this time they really got jerked around!  Of course, they may have tried to sue and we just don't know (couldn't find a lawyer willing to take the case, etc.), or they may have just wanted to move on with their lives, or they may have been threatened by SCAD ("If you sue, we'll countersue you for inciting students to violence and you'll spend years in court defending yourself...").

And this from the city that brought us the Troy Davis case...

But it doesn't surprise me that they won't pay up. Not if they're not getting anything out of the deal.
