Hiddendragon...are you thin? It can be also really, really difficult to take dietary advice someone who appears to be naturally thin, or who has a completely different relationship with food than yourself.
I was a naturally skinny into my 20's and I've been overweight for half my life now. I'm discovering how it takes
almost
constant thought/preparation to make good food choices. It's a major commitment. One indulgent day and boom! the pounds are back.
I don't know if you can comprehend why your friend eats the way he does. I'm not entirely sure you're coming from a sympathetic angle to your friend's problem, or simply from a worried angle. He's probably already worried about himself...you adding your worry to his doesn't help, and you can see that in his reaction.
This has been said upthread, but I'll repeat: if you can repair your friendship with this person, invite him to do things with you that don't involve eating (and don't tell him that's your strategy either).
