Staple removal is easy... a quick pinch and they come right out.  Easier than sutures!

+1 - it was a whole lot less painful/uncomfortable to have 20 staples removed from my belly last summer than 12 stitches from my hand a decade ago.


Theatremom - I'm glad you're staying home and resting.  I also had two abdominal surgeries in the last 3 years - laparoscopic in 2009 and a 10" incision in 2010.  It took me 2 weeks to get to the point where I felt I might be able to teach a class without collapsing halfway through after the laparoscopy (which was done in summer, so that was a moot point), and 6 weeks after the big incision (also done in summer).  The really big issue is that you don't realize how much you use your abdominal muscles and connective tissues just to keep you upright until they're no longer cooperating.
