All those who don't make the shortlist will only be notified when the search is complete?

I guess I want to know whether NO NEWS means good news or bad news. Thanks.

Not always - because the time frame is often short, those who will be called for interview need to be notified quickly, and those who are unsuccessful can be notified at leisure. That would typically be before the interview date, though.

There are too many variables to be able to answer this. We sometimes have a short-list with a reserve or two in case someone drops out. I can even recollect - several years ago - interviewing everyone on our short-list, thinking no-one appointable, and dipping back into a long-list of candidates, some of whom had only narrowly missed the short-list. And, as drspouse says, our efforts are concentrated more on getting the short-listed candidates to interview.

Not necessarily. There is no standard system across SCs.
